On one side, the Morainic Hills, the alluvial plain of the Atesino cone, with the Veneto Pre-Alps in the background. On the other, the many forms of water: the Adige River, Lake Garda, the Tione Springs, and – in ancient times – the mighty Quaternary glacier.
Step by step, through four stages narrated by an audio guide, you can retrace the history of the elements of Earth and Water until you reach the Tione Springs, but that’s not all! Along the route, you will also encounter and learn about some local businesses, such as “Il Pignetto” and “Agricola Castellani”, gaining an insight into the birth and development of the community and agricultural enterprises together with the territory on which they stand.
-As regards the equipment needed to complete the itinerary, we recommend clothing suitable for the season and a personal supply of water, given the lack of refreshment points along the route.
-Some sections of the itinerary run alongside the roadside. Although these are mostly secondary roads with little traffic, we recommend that you take the necessary precautions.
-The Sorgenti del Tione wetland is home to a rich biodiversity, despite being located near an industrial area. To observe its fauna, we recommend visiting at dusk (sunrise or sunset) and bringing binoculars. If it has rained in the previous days, the ground around the ponds can be very muddy, so we recommend wearing shoes with good non-slip soles.
The winery, focused on the future and sustainability, offers tours and tastings. Guests will be welcomed by those who tend the vineyards every day and who will be able to tell the story of their splendid winery in the best possible way.
Matteo is the enthusiastic owner of this winery, located in Rotti di Bussolengo, which continues the family business started 100 years ago.
In addition to using the methods and traditions handed down by his grandparents, Matteo also strives to innovate and think about the environment, while maintaining high-quality products.
