At Gabanel, you can breathe in calm, freedom, and simplicity.
Between homemade breakfasts, sun-drenched porches, and encounters with other guests,
every stay becomes a special little moment.
Discover the story of Giorgia, who chose to stay here.
I’ve lost track (or maybe I never kept track) of the nights I’ve spent here at Gabanel Bike
Hostel, but I returned at regular intervals and for varying lengths of time for at least six months.
I stumbled upon this place by chance while searching online for accommodation near my workplace.
Living 100km from the office, located in Bussolengo, and not having the option of working remotely at the time, I needed to find a place that would serve as my “base” from Monday to Friday. Or, perhaps, that it was almost like home. Since I had to spend several days there each week and didn’t like hotel solutions (I don’t like having time constraints or eating dinner at a restaurant every night), I was looking for a place that was welcoming but gave me complete freedom.
And when I read the description of the Gabanel, I thought it might be a good solution for me.
I also liked the fact that it was a new building, with a design
social redevelopment behind it, and that it had spaces dedicated to both individuals and groups.
With the possibility of sharing or remaining in one’s own space, without obligations. Another plus, for me, was the reasonable price. If I have been returning there for so long, it almost goes without saying that it is because the first time I went there, I knew I had made the right choice. If I have been returning there for so long, it almost goes without saying that it is because the first time I went there, I knew I had made the right choice. There has always been maximum flexibility regarding my arrival times (which vary due to work), as well as the option to pay directly on site or online. A perfect 10 for hospitality and helpfulness!
The structure, seen in person, is as beautiful as it is in
photos, or perhaps even more than that, because it feels like home and is warm and welcoming.
I liked the wooden beds, the large, well-equipped kitchen, and the spacious porch where I would sit in the evening drinking tea and reading a book. I liked the fact that it’s outside the city center, in the hills: no traffic, beautiful view.
And it’s a great area for a run before or after work. I especially loved
running before work: I would leave at 6:00 a.m., in the dark, enjoy the sunrise over Lake Garda in the cool morning air, and return around 7:00 a.m., ready for a nice hot shower and to enjoy the fresh products available for breakfast.
It was always a pleasure to find homemade cakes and cookies in the
morning, it got my working day off to a good start!
Although I was only at the hotel in the evenings, I also got to know several
guests who spent a few nights at the Gabanel;
some, like me, were there for work and we saw each other regularly (the “regulars”), others were
travelers passing through, who shared stories of their adventures around the world.
It was nice to listen to and share certain stories; ultimately, the hostel is also a fertile place for making new and interesting acquaintances.
Needless to say (again), my experience at Gabanel was absolutely positive and enjoyable in every way, and I would gladly return there both for work and to spend a weekend of
pleasure in the Lake Garda area (perhaps in the summer with my bike!).
For those who like simple, authentic things, a family atmosphere, and being surrounded by nature rather than in the city center, I highly recommend staying at least one night at Gabanel.
You won’t regret it, and you’ll want to come back, I’m sure!
There is a new way to experience work: far from traffic, close to nature.
At Gabanel Bike Hostel, we offer you everything you need for a stay where you can feel at home even when you’re away from home!
